Common Conditions & Concerns Addressed at Apex:
Sciatica & Lower Back Discomfort
Here at Apex your therapist will focus on muscular and soft-tissue contributors that may be associated with low-back, hip and gluteal tension, including the gluteal muscles, deep hip rotators and psoas. Targeted manual therapy is used to reduce muscular tension and improve mobility, while red light therapy may provide temporary relief of muscle and joint discomfort and promote local circulation.
Plantar Fasciitis & Plantar Heel Pain
Treatment focuses beyond the foot itself by addressing tightness and mobility restrictions throughout the calves, Achilles region, ankles and surrounding lower-leg tissues. Deep manual therapy, IASTM and mobility techniques are used to improve soft-tissue mobility and reduce muscular tension that may be contributing to altered foot and ankle mechanics.
Tennis & Golfer’s Elbow
Repetitive gripping during sports, strength training, work and everyday activities can overload the muscles and tendons of the forearm. Treatment focuses on the wrist flexors or extensors and surrounding tissues using targeted manual therapy and IASTM to address muscular tension, improve tissue mobility and support comfortable movement of the wrist and elbow.
Frozen Shoulder & Restricted Shoulder Mobility
Frozen shoulder involves changes to the shoulder joint capsule, so massage cannot directly release or “break up” the affected capsule. Instead, I address muscular guarding and mobility restrictions surrounding the shoulder, including the rotator cuff muscles—infraspinatus, teres minor and subscapularis—as well as other muscles influencing shoulder mechanics. Manual therapy, IASTM and appropriately applied assisted stretching may help reduce surrounding muscular tension and support comfortable range of motion.
IT Band Syndrome & Runner’s Knee
Rather than attempting to “release” the IT band itself, treatment focuses on muscles that influence hip, thigh and knee mechanics. Targeted work may include the tensor fasciae latae (TFL), gluteus medius, gluteus maximus, quadriceps and surrounding tissues. Deep manual therapy, IASTM and assisted stretching are used to address muscular tension, improve mobility and support more efficient movement.
Tech Neck & Postural Tension
Prolonged sitting, computer work and phone use can contribute to muscular fatigue and tension throughout the neck, shoulders and upper back. Treatment may include the scalenes, sternocleidomastoid (SCM), upper trapezius, levator scapulae and surrounding cervical and thoracic musculature. Targeted manual therapy focuses on reducing muscular tension, improving soft-tissue mobility and supporting more comfortable neck and shoulder movement.
